2024-2025 Programme Announcement

The School of Medicine of the University of Athens, in partnership with the University of Milano-Bicocca, announces the launch of a Postgraduate Cooperation Programme (PCP) that will run for 18 months, leading to a Postgraduate Diploma (MSc) in “Endovascular Techniques”. The Programme also offers the option of obtaining a PhD in the scientific field of modern Endovascular Techniques for the treatment of arterial and venous disorders.

The Programme commences in early February 2025 and includes two (2) academic semesters of compulsory attendance of classes and one (1) semester for preparing and drafting a dissertation to conclude the MSc. A total of ninety (90) credits (ECTS) is required to obtain the MSc.

The PCP in “Endovascular Techniques” accepts graduates of the 1st round of studies at the University of Athens School of Medicine, as well as graduates of university departments in Greece or abroad recognised by the Hellenic National Academic Recognition Information Centre (NARIC), and institutes abroad with studies related to health sciences.

One (1) member of the categories of Special Teaching Staff (EEP), Laboratory Teaching Staff (EDIP) and Special Technical Laboratory Staff (ETET) are accepted as supernumerary.

The maximum number of enrolled students is 15.

Once enrolled in the Postgraduate Programme, students must pay the relevant operating expenses, which amount to 750 euros for each of the first two semesters and 500 euros for the third semester, which corresponds to the dissertation (2,000 euros per student). The fees are paid at the beginning of each semester.

Candidates must have very good working knowledge of English. Proof of satisfactory knowledge of English is a key condition for the evaluation of candidates.

  3. Copy of degree or certificate of completion of studies
  4. Academic transcript of undergraduate studies
  5. Publications in peer-reviewed journals, if applicable
  6. Proof of professional or research activities, if applicable
  7. Photocopy of ID card, front and back
  8. Two letters of recommendation
  9. Certificate of language proficiency for English, B2 level
  10. Recognition certificate of Hellenic NARIC for recognition of their degree

The successful candidates will be selected by the Candidate Selection Committee based on the following criteria:

  • Degree grade, which counts for 10%
  • Grade average of undergraduate courses relevant to the object of the Postgraduate Programme, which counts for 10%
  • Research activity, which counts for 10%
  • Publications, which count for 10%
  • Letters of recommendation, which count for 10%
  • Degree studies related to health sciences count for 30%
  • Certificate of language proficiency for English counts for 10%
  • Certificate of language proficiency for any other foreign language counts for 10%

Based on the criteria overall, the CSC compiles the students’ Evaluation Table, which it then submits to the Programme of Studies Committee.

Successful candidates must enrol at the PCP Secretariat before the start of the PCP classes.

If one or more students do not enrol, the runners-up, based on their ranking in the approved evaluation table, will be invited to enrol in the Programme.
